Health and wellness business Holland & Barrett has increased pay for its retail employees by 9%, and for its distribution staff by 7%.
The pay deal starts from 1 April, with retail pay rising from £10.05 to £11 per hour, and distribution rates from £10.71 to £11.46. With the introduction of this deal, Holland & Barrett has raised retail pay by 15% over the past year.
The business has more than 5,000 employees, including those working across more than 700 retail locations.
Other financial benefits available to store workers include a 25% Holland & Barrett discount, as well as free online delivery. The business also offers life assurance for all employees, mental health first aiders, access to healthcare, and employee assistance programme (EAP), a flexible holiday policy, gym access and other wellbeing services, and a cycle-to-work scheme.

In 2020, Holland & Barrett introduced income management and real-time pay access for its employees, in partnership with app provider Wagestream. The app also provides financial education and budgeting tools.
