Dunelm is increasing pay for its UK employees to £10.80 per hour in order to attract and retain staff.
The home furnishings retailer, which employs more than 11,000 people, introduced the higher rate explaining its reward team were “listening and learning” from the workforce.
The company posted on LinkedIn: “At Dunelm, our colleagues are at the heart of our business and it’s hugely important for us to attract and retain friendly, helpful colleagues and for them to feel empowered and truly at home.”
In addition to the pay rise, the business provides a host of employee benefits, including round-the-clock virtual GP services, easy access to earnings through a salary advance scheme and a free and confidential employee assistance programme 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The retailer also offers a 15% staff discount, as well as access to hundreds of everyday discounts through an online portal. Employees can also buy extra holiday three times a year and purchase shares through a discounted three-year share save scheme. They additionally have access to free online financial wellbeing tools and support, including a budget calculator, low-cost loans and a staff support fund.
In terms of leave, employees are entitled to enhanced time, off with additional leave awarded based on length of service, and extra parental leave, as well as additional days off for birthdays and charity work.
