Farnborough Airport has extended employee health support as part of its broader wellbeing strategy.
The business is offering workforce-wide health insurance to its 185 members of staff through a renewed partnership with Equipsme.
The plan gives employees access to a 24/7 GP service, physiotherapy appointments, a nurse advice line, Thriva health checks, private diagnosis and treatment, private dental and optical benefits.
Siobhan Jenkins, people director at Farnborough Airport, said: “As a company funded plan, the reception across our Farnborough Airport colleagues and new joiners has been great. We made the investment when our staff survey showed people wanted more by the way of health benefits and the survey this year has indeed shown a very positive response. It’s helped us retain our staff, attract new talent and supported our broader strategy to be an employer of choice and responsibility with a focus on wellbeing and benefits.”
Named a UK Great Place to Work and an Employer of Choice and Responsibility in its region, Farnborough Airport’s staff work in roles ranging from desk-based office positions, such as in finance and marketing, to physical operational jobs, such as ground handling, customer service and fire service.
The company also offers staff an extra day of annual leave, an employee assistance programme, access to trained mental health first aiders and an occupational health specialist. In addition, massages and access to an onsite gym are provided as part of its wider wellbeing strategy.
Jenkins added: “At the end of the day, healthy, happy people supports employee engagement and motivation. That’s well worth investing in.”
