The Big Table Group has extended its flexible pay options to Banana Tree employees and is now offering all staff access to up to 40% of their wages during the month.
The independent restaurant company made the decision as part of a commitment to helping improve the financial wellbeing of its 4,000-strong workforce.
Hayley Moosa, HR director at Bella Italia, The Big Table Group, said: “The platform is an important component of our overall wellbeing strategy at the Big Table Group. In today’s challenging economic climate, we were keen to enhance our highly valued partnership with Wagestream so that the offering was more accessible to a greater number of our colleagues. By empowering people to get paid flexibly we hope to benefit both their immediate and long-time financial health.”
The group first introduced flexible pay to its staff at Bella Italia, Café Rouge and Las Iguanas in May 2019, after launching with financial wellbeing app Wagestream. The app enables individuals to manage their budgets, benefit from discounted household bills, save for the future, and more.
Pledging to be a fully flexible pay employer this month by offering unrestricted usage, Big Table highlighted that financial wellbeing is one of its key wellbeing strategy pillars, along with mental health.
Earlier this year, the business – which has more than 150 restaurants in locations such as leisure parks, shopping centres and high streets – introduced mandatory mental health training for new employees and also committed to providing mental health first aider training opportunities for the workforce.
The company says it values diversity and inclusion as a central part of the business and encourages people to bring their true selves to work.
