Aon is offering its UK workforce enhanced fertility and menopause benefits as part of its aim to create “an inclusive and compassionate work environment”.

The  global professional services firm, which employs more than 7,000 staff at 24 offices in the UK, has partnered with healthcare business Bupa and fertility support provider Peppy to support those affected by the menopause or fertility-related issues.

Through the Bupa Menopause Plan, female, trans and non-binary employees affected by the menopause will have access to personalised and confidential support, including a 45-minute consultation with a GP who has had menopause training, advice on symptom management and a 30-minute follow-up consultation within 12 months of the first appointment and 12 months of advice and support via a nurse-led 24/7 Anytime HealthLine service.

Meanwhile, Peppy’s Fertility service will be available to staff considering or planning a pregnancy, those undergoing fertility treatment or thinking about surrogacy or adoption. It will put individuals in touch with experts for confidential and personalised information and advice, including one to one consultations with practitioners, access to virtual events, emotional wellbeing support and a tailored course in a bid to encourage more open conversations about the issues.

Chris Dunford, chief people officer, Aon UK said: “As part of our commitment to our colleagues and to creating an inclusive and compassionate work environment, we have enhanced our employee benefits to include specialised support for anyone affected by menopause and fertility-related issues.

“Colleague wellbeing is our priority and we appreciate the impact ongoing health issues or major life events can have – and that access to the right support at the right time can be a lifeline. With this enhanced package, we are acknowledging and respecting the personal and health challenges our colleagues may face, and our aim is to provide access to useful and practical help, support and advice.”

byBenefits Expert from Definite Article Media

As the professionals responsible for helping their organisations navigate NI hikes, rising employee stress levels and looming redundancies, the pressure on HR, reward and benefits teams has never been greater.

HR is expected to lead with strength and compassion. But who is supporting the supporters?

In this episode of Benefits Unboxed, co-hosts Claire Churchard, Carole Goldsmith and Steve Herbert explore the emotional and ethical pressures HR face today, from managing redundancies to implementing complex legislation. They discuss why HR’s own wellbeing may not be the first topic of conversation, the risks that poses to employers, and the practical steps businesses can take to better support the wellbeing of the people who support everyone else.

This conversation shines a light on the resilience of the profession and why looking after HR is not just the right thing to do, but a business imperative.
