A year after the merger of benefits firms Perkbox and Vivup in 2024, the company has rebranded as Perkbox and launched a fully unified platform to offer the best of both firms.
For HR teams, the launch promises a more streamlined approach, with one system to manage a wide range of benefits and wellbeing tools. The provider said that for employers the upgrade will reduce complexity and help maximise engagement for the same level of investment. For employees, the platform is designed to offer easier access to services they use regularly, from wellbeing support to everyday savings.
The unified Perkbox platform is available to new clients from today. The provider will begin to transition existing clients this year and into 2026 to ensure continuity and meaningful engagement for employees.
Doug Butler, Perkbox CEO, told Benefits Expert that ultimately users will have access to one single platform, both on laptop or on PCs, as well as a single app. “Those are pretty important advancements for us,” he said.
The unified platform builds on the best of Vivup’s trusted heritage in public sector benefits and wellbeing, and Perkbox’s technology-led perks and recognition.
But the single platform will continue to evolve, Butler added, saying that Perkbox will “innovate and iterate improvements as we go”.
There are more capabilities that the provider wants to add to the platform, either organically or inorganically through acquisition, he added.
New look
In practice the upgrade will look slightly different for existing users depending on which platform they are using. For organisations that have been using Perkbox, benefits are being consolidated onto it. For teams that use the Vivup platform, the provider will show them the platform.
Butler explained discussions with their clients about the upgrade and transition will begin this year, with activity happening into 2026.
“It will be, I like to say, seamless,” he said. “But it’ll take some effort, certainly on our part.”
Since the merger, the provider has made four acquisitions, including Let’s Connect and TERC (The Employee Resilience Company), prompting one insider at the firm to suggest “maybe it’s not the best of both worlds, it’s really the best of four”.
With its acquisitions, revamped design and upgraded experiences the single platform now brings together 12 benefits, including salary sacrifice, therapeutic counselling services, and financial savings.
Butler said: “Under our ‘new’, but recognisable, single brand name of Perkbox, we are excited to be introducing our unified platform leveraging the proven, market leading benefits, wellbeing and engagement solutions of our legacy businesses.
“Through one innovative platform and associated mobile app we will provide our clients unique solutions for their people that are accessible, impactful, used and useful.”
Ankur Sharma, chief product officer at Perkbox, added: “This launch is just the start. We are listening closely to our clients and using their feedback to shape what comes next. Our focus is on continuous innovation. We are bringing new capabilities and smarter experiences to the platform so that it keeps evolving to meet the changing needs of organisations and their people.”
