HCML provides an integrated health management solution for organisations of all sizes, currently working with employers ranging from under 100 to 15,000 employees.
Its services cover rehabilitation, treatment, health assessments, day one absence management, occupational health and healthcare trusts. The company also offers an extended employee assistance programme (EAP) providing mental health support, musculoskeletal (MSK) care, virtual GP services and financial wellbeing support.
The company addresses clinical conditions and underlying causes such as excess weight, poor sleep and sub-optimal nutrition offering specific MSK services and health assessments as part of its core offering. It also partners with HealthHero for virtual GP services and Abelstoke for financial wellbeing support.
Additionally, employees can access services in person, online or by phone while employers receive standard management information in numbers and narrative form with tailored reporting available to meet specific needs.
HCML can refine data by demographic or geographic criteria and analyse risk factors such as lifestyle, psychosocial issues, work-related pressures and personal stressors including bereavement, financial concerns and family matters.
It tracks return on investment using financial data audited and confirmed by clients, alongside non-monetary measures through its ‘Value of Investment’ and ‘Return on Experience’ approach.
The company’s integrated model combines clinical care, lifestyle and wellbeing support with digital access providing employers with a comprehensive framework to manage workforce health and improve employee outcomes.
HCML launched two HMRC-approved healthcare trusts in September 2025. A sole trust for employers with more than 1,000 staff and a multi-employer master trust for companies with 500 or more and both allow organisations to tailor employee health and wellbeing benefits, with surplus funds used to reduce future costs.
It recently appointed Marc Holl as chief quality officer who brings over 20 years of experience in specialist support and clinical pathway design. He joins from Nuffield Health, where, as head of quality, he oversaw quality assurance, governance, workforce development, regulatory compliance, and clinical leadership.
It also hired Jill Pritchard to be its chief commercial officer. Pritchard has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 20 years, most recently at Nuffield Health where she led the commercial performance across the charity’s 37 hospitals and 1000-plus corporate clients. In this role she was responsible for revenues of over £1bn.
