Sacker & Partners (Sackers), a specialist law firm for pensions and retirement savings, has unveiled its promotions for 2024.
Andrew Worthington has been promoted to partner; Liam Goulding, Emily Whitelock and Lucy Swart-Mallett to associate director; and Sam Dalling to senior associate.
Stepping into a partner role, Worthington is an experienced pensions lawyer who advises trustees, employers and providers on a broad range of issues for defined benefit and defined contribution pensions.
The firm said his achievements over the past 12 months included advising on the largest single DC bulk transfer to a master trust, the first transfer to a DB superfund and several buy-ins each exceeding £1billion.
Worthington has an interest in equality, diversity and inclusion and manages the firm’s relationships with LGBT Great and GAIN.
Goulding, Whitelock and Dalling advise trustees and employers in a range of sectors on all aspects of their pension arrangements. This includes benefit changes, risk transfer projects, mergers, scheme closures and governance issues.
‘Know how team’
Swart-Mallett is a senior member of the firm’s ‘know-how team’. She has responsibility for ensuring that Sackers’ clients and its own lawyers are up to speed with legislative and regulatory developments.
Swart-Mallett has a particular focus on finance and investment issues, including risk transfer projects, environment, social and governance, and stewardship.
David Saunders, senior partner at the law firm, said: “Being able to reward talented lawyers by making these internal promotions is my favourite time of the year, and a hugely important part of the culture at Sackers.
“We look forward to seeing all our newly promoted lawyers flourishing in their new roles and wish them many congratulations on their thoroughly deserved achievement.”
The promotions take effect on 1 August 2024.
