High Speed Training has gained B Corp certification following an assessment of its working practices, including its approach to employee wellbeing.

According to the online training provider, the accreditation highlights its “commitment to creating positive impacts on its staff, customers and the environment”.

In 2018, the business launched a profit-share scheme to employees a stake in the firm. Other benefits provided include life insurance, access to free, confidential counselling sessions and employee assistance programmes.

Dan Jordan, Founder of High Speed Training, said: “We are honoured that High Speed Training has become part of the B CorpTM family. It’s testament to the years of hard work that have gone into building a customer-focused company that truly values its employees and the wider communities that we are a part of.

“More and more, people are looking to organisations to prove that they are making positive choices, choices that protect their customers, their employees and the environment. We’re incredibly proud of the culture that has been built here over the last 15 years, and achieving BCorp status shows our commitment to continuing this journey.”

Run by global non-profit organisation B Lab, the certification scheme requires employers to meet high standards of environmental and social impact, examining their approach to governance, communities, customers and the environment.

Jordan added: “For us, a successful business is one that has people at its heart, whether that is our colleagues and the communities we live in, or each and every one of our 2.5 million learners. Being recognised as a B CorpTM aligns so closely with our values as a business – it’s a goal that we always wanted to achieve. To be able to join the community of thousands of like-minded businesses worldwide is a real privilege.”

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, commented: “Welcoming High Speed Training is an exciting moment because they have an opportunity to lead the way within the online training industry. We and the rest of the B Corp community are really pleased to support them in paving the way for a new way of doing things.

“Their commitment to doing business differently will be an inspiration to others and really help spread the idea that we can redefine success in business to be as much about people and planet as it is about profit.”
