Mortgage brokerage Just Mortgages has enhanced its mental health and wellbeing support with a new training module covering the menopause.

The new provision is available to all workers regardless of age or gender, and covers facts about the menopause, its potential impact and the support that is available pre-menopause and during menopause for those directly affected and their partners.

Just Mortgages said the training strengthens existing health and wellbeing support for employees and brokers – both employed and self-employed – offered in partnership with Health Assured.

As well as the new module on the menopause, 23 other modules are offered through the company’s digital platform, covering areas such as anxiety, stress and depression.

The development of Just Mortgages’ wellbeing provision was led by financial services training manager and mental health first-aider Sian Musial, who expressed pride in the new module launch.

“When you consider the menopause impacts 13 million women in the UK at any one time, it’s so important that employers provide the necessary support,” she said. “That is especially true with something that is a natural part of the course of life and yet is so often underserved and unfairly seen as taboo.”

Musial added: “Through the training, we’re able to take a candid look at the menopause, explore the symptoms and break down the barriers and misconceptions that surround it. Most importantly, we can highlight the wealth of support available to help those experiencing this life event, as well as for partners in helping the women in their life.”
