Kreston Reeves is improving its maternity and adoption leave policy to offer employees 21 weeks of leave on full pay.
Effective from 1 June 2023, the accountants, business and wealth advisers is introducing the enhanced provision for its 500-plus staff members working at its seven UK offices in Kent, Sussex and London.
The company says the move demonstrates the value it places on “listening and supporting its people in providing family-friendly policies that support career development and the creation of future leaders”.
The enhanced policy will mean that, following the fully paid time off, staff will have 18 weeks of leave on the statutory minimum weekly rate of £172.48 then 13 weeks of unpaid leave.
Sharn Manku, HR director at Kreston Reeves, said: “Kreston Reeves is a purpose-driven firm, guiding our clients, colleagues and communities to a brighter future. It has an ever-growing female workforce, with over half of its workforce female. We look to support our staff in every way we can, including the development of tomorrow’s leadership teams.
“We listen to our staff and improved family friendly policies have been regularly raised in our staff-led forums. This policy is a practical demonstration of our commitment to our talented people, that sits alongside our values, our B Corp status, and our ESG goals.”
The introduction of the policy, which follows the company achieving B Corp certification in March 2023, means that shared parental and adoption leave can be taken alongside paternity leave. Manku added that its launch is just one of many initiatives being launched by the business in the next 12 months.
The business currently offers flexible benefits, allowing employees to select options according to their individual needs. Core benefits are provided which can be adapted to meet people’s requirements, including death in service, group income protection and a healthplan, as well as access to other benefits such as the ability to buy an additional week’s holiday, interest-free car or season ticket loan, health assessments, and more.
