Portico has unveiled a new and improved benefits provision for its 1,000 employees.

Launching the first phase of its enhanced scheme, the London-based guest services company aims to “reward success and place the wellbeing and satisfaction of team members at the heart of its business”.

The firm will initially offer staff access to a wider range of health and wellbeing support, which includes digital GP services and annual health checks. They will also be able to benefit from mental health and nutritional consultations if needed, as well as discounted gym memberships and a cycle-to-work scheme.

The business is additionally encouraging employees to use a paid day off for charity work in support of worthy causes.

Dana Singer, head of people at Portico, said: “We pride ourselves on thinking creatively and innovatively when it comes to attracting top talent. Once we recruit ‘Portico People’ who embrace and flourish in our values and culture, it is our priority to keep them happy. Great people are the foundation stone of our business, and it’s vital that we recognise and reward the incredible value that every team member brings.”

The enhanced offering complements the company’s existing employee benefits package, including a range of free learning and development opportunities and the chance to take part in professional or personal training courses.

Singer added: “Our enhanced benefits package reflects what team members asked for and spans the key areas that we believe contribute to creating a great place to work where everyone loves their job. It is our aim to ensure that hard work and commitment are never overlooked.”

byBenefits Expert from Definite Article Media

As the professionals responsible for helping their organisations navigate NI hikes, rising employee stress levels and looming redundancies, the pressure on HR, reward and benefits teams has never been greater.

HR is expected to lead with strength and compassion. But who is supporting the supporters?

In this episode of Benefits Unboxed, co-hosts Claire Churchard, Carole Goldsmith and Steve Herbert explore the emotional and ethical pressures HR face today, from managing redundancies to implementing complex legislation. They discuss why HR’s own wellbeing may not be the first topic of conversation, the risks that poses to employers, and the practical steps businesses can take to better support the wellbeing of the people who support everyone else.

This conversation shines a light on the resilience of the profession and why looking after HR is not just the right thing to do, but a business imperative.
