Systemic shake-up: it takes HR to do things right

Provider PIB Employee Benefits has launched a campaign calling on HR leaders and business directors to pledge support for employee-centric benefits.

The Campaign for Better Benefits aims to improve employee benefits in the workplace by encouraging employers to commit to delivering better perks. As part of the campaign, PIB EB is asking employers to sign up to a set of principles to enhance what they offer. It aims to address the growing need for companies to prioritise workforce wellbeing and satisfaction.

HR leaders and business directors signing the pledge will commit to making significant improvements in their benefits programmes, ensuring they are built around employee needs and promoting a culture of wellbeing.

David Skinner, managing director of PIB EB, said: “We’re asking companies to join our campaign by pledging their commitment to delivering better benefits to their employees. In return, they’ll get inspiration, guides, and exclusive content to help them boost their wellbeing and benefits programme.”

Campaign pledge commitments

  • Make data-driven decisions. We will base our decisions on employee benefits on reliable data, ensuring that our efforts are effective and targeted.
  • Build around employee needs. We will design and implement benefits programs that are tailored to the specific needs and preferences of our employees.
  • Proactively engage employees. We will actively communicate our benefits offering to our employees, using a multichannel approach.
  • Continually develop and improve. We will continuously assess and improve our benefits offerings to adapt to the evolving needs and expectations of our workforce.
  • Prioritise flexibility and choice. We will provide our employees with flexible benefits options, allowing them to choose the benefits that best suit their individual needs.
  • Create a culture of wellbeing. We will foster a work environment that promotes and supports the holistic wellbeing of our employees.

Benefits Unboxed – Wellbeing: HR is supporting everyone, but who’s supporting HR?
byBenefits Expert from Definite Article Media

As the professionals responsible for helping their organisations navigate NI hikes, rising employee stress levels and looming redundancies, the pressure on HR, reward and benefits teams has never been greater.

HR is expected to lead with strength and compassion. But who is supporting the supporters?

In this episode of Benefits Unboxed, co-hosts Claire Churchard, Carole Goldsmith and Steve Herbert explore the emotional and ethical pressures HR face today, from managing redundancies to implementing complex legislation. They discuss why HR’s own wellbeing may not be the first topic of conversation, the risks that poses to employers, and the practical steps businesses can take to better support the wellbeing of the people who support everyone else.

This conversation shines a light on the resilience of the profession and why looking after HR is not just the right thing to do, but a business imperative.
