Three more big names connect to the pensions dashboard as momentum builds

More organisations have connected to the pensions dashboard programme as Nest, Smart Pension and consultancy firm XPS Group become the latest in the list.

Under this first stage of the dashboards programme, organisations connect to a centralised dashboard run by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS). This will collect workplace, personal and state pension data from all pension providers. Schemes have to connect to MaPS by October this year, with pension scheme members expected to be able to view their information by early next year. Commercial dashboards which may have more functionality are expected to follow later in 2026 or into 2027.

Nest said its connection is a significant milestone as it works to enhance services for its more than 13m members.

Smart Pension said it will benefit its 1.5m members and emphasised that it is one of a small number of providers using proprietary, in-house technology to connect to the Pensions Dashboard Programme. The platform belongs to its parent group Keystone.

XPS Group said it has connected more than 600,000 pension scheme members and more than 20 schemes to the pensions dashboard’s central digital architecture, since April 2025. XPS stated that it is among the first large administrators to reach this level of dashboard connectivity, which indicates a key step towards industry readiness.

Estimates show that around two thirds of UK savers have multiple pension pots from different providers. This initiative is expected to help people find lost pensions, while the government estimates that the value of ‘lost’ accounts in the UK is around £31.1bn.

Ian Cornelius, chief executive at Nest, said: “This milestone reflects our dedication to innovation and collaboration. We are proud of the hard work and commitment shown by our team and partners in achieving this connection. We look forward to supporting MaPS in the upcoming user testing phase and continuing to enhance our solution for the benefit of our members.”

Jamie Fiveash, CEO of Smart Pension, said: “Over the past decade, we have shown that technology has the power to simplify pension saving for our members. We are excited to be part of the collaborative Pensions Dashboard Programme, which will provide savers with clear, simple and trusted sources of information and help deliver better financial outcomes for all UK savers.”

“Our Keystone platform is scalable, cost-effective and is designed to manage this large-scale, digital infrastructure project seamlessly and at speed.”

XPS managing director of administration David Watkins said: “We’re delighted to have connected over 600,000 members to pensions dashboards — a key step towards delivering more transparent, accessible pensions for all. This milestone highlights the strength of our technology, expertise, and commitment to improving member outcomes.

“We believe dashboards will transform how people engage with pensions in the UK, and we look forward to helping more schemes meet their connection duties.”
