Vitality launches personalised employee statements to showcase value of benefits

Vitality has launched a benefits statement for policyholders that sets out the value of services and rewards that each employee uses on its health and insurance plans.

Statements will be sent twice a year to those who have earned reward savings from at least one of Vitality’s partners.

Employees will be able to see an estimate of the cost of any GP consultations they have had, health checks, physiotherapy sessions, mental health counselling, optical, dental or hearing checks, so they can see the true value of the benefits.

Savings clarity
Statements will also show savings made through the provider’s rewards schemes with partners – which include Apple Watch, Expedia, Caffè Nero and Waitrose.

Vitality says that in the past 12 months its members received more than £82m through its rewards scheme, while policyholders arranged almost 200,000 consultations with its online GPs.

The provider said the new statement is designed to reflect the level of benefits being used and spotlight the “everyday value” members get from their insurance policies.

Vitality retention and adviser operations director Lara Fascione said: “Providing ongoing value to our members and helping them live healthier lives, has been embedded in our insurance products since we first launched.

“From day one, we’ve looked to change people’s relationship with their insurance through our shared-value approach — encouraging them to not just see their insurance as something to file in a drawer and forget about until the point of claim.

“Our new statement further demonstrates this approach to insurance and the significant day-to-day benefits provided by our ‘Everyday Care’ services such as Vitality GP appointments and physiotherapy sessions.
